On-draught @ Eureka Bar, Dunedin, New Zealand.
Smoked dark bock.
The smoked malt is subtle but present, bringing needed complexity to this otherwise straightforward Bock.
I'd imagine it's all beechwood smoked malt, probably imported from Weyermann if I'm guessing. Subtle woodsy smoke hinting towards oak and beech. Smokiness is about a 3 out of 10 intensity wise.
Zero hop flavour aside from maybe some faint herbal hop flavour.
Malt sweetness is at its fore. Caramel, dark breadiness, a hint of cherry/stonefruit.
Drinkable and likable, but I'd love to see them dial up the smoke and maybe bring in some roasty elements.
