16 oz can poured into a pilsner glass. Finger of fluffy head. Canned 4/29/2020. Grain and bread aroma. Taste is right in line with a slight floral note. Mouthfeel is light, carbonation is on the low side of medium. Overall, a well made Pilsner.

As a home brewer/wine vintner with 60 plus years of experience I have found what I consider to be the best old fashion German style pilsner to have ever passed my lips. Since I know what I like (as most of us old-timers do) the "Fortmillsner" Pilsner by far outweighs any pilsner tasted, homebrewed or produced by the efforts of other. My hat off to the brewmeister for a world class job well done. Now he should be worried an old man will be irritating him until he yields the recipe so I don't have to be frustrated any longer.
Upon receiving the first rinsed 16oz glass the clarity was outstanding and remarkable yet expected. The ABV and IBU numbers were perfect for an above average pilsner.
The coloring, head and head retention were notable given the beer was a draft. Great head and it held. You could tell a chemist was both involved and he was a beer connoisseur.
The smell (given an old nose that uses his sons on all of our beers and wines) didn't impart any adjunct additives, flavorings or residual yeast. I could only detect a wonderful grain and nothing else.
Then came the taste and one would think they are on their way to heaven. Dry, crisp and perfectly hopped. No over hopping, excessive ABV in this beer. Sorry but I was unable to determine the hopping regiment which is something I hope to obtain from the brewmeister. The balance between brewing and finishing hops should be mandate by law for pilsners. A world class pilsner should be smooth, goes down easily and leaves no aftertastes or easily detected flavors. Pure world class pilsner "Fortmillsner Pilsner".
