Traditional English Bitter with EKG and Fuggle hops. Very light toffee and caramel, medium bodied, bitter, but nowhere near IPA territory.

Beer #2 @ the brewpub delivered via cask engine in a Nonic 4-25-26 for $7.00.

What a great brew, small malt base with lots of flavor with a nice backend bitterness to let you know what the style is. Excited to review again via the cans received from ATL6245. Great to have brews with a big contributor BA! Rated 4.4 Overall.

Reviewing the canned version 5-18-26 that David provided via trade.

Appearance: Slightly cloudy, light amber, frothy white head with good retention.

Aroma: Earthy with grass and hay like notes. Light caramel and grainy notes.

Flavor: Earthy with grassy, hay and spicy notes.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied. Low carbonation.

Overall: Excellent representation of the style. Grassy and hay-like notes are notable. Appearance was a little cloudy. Light and flavorful. Great beer for the low ABV of 3.9%. You will often find this as the cask ale offering. Be sure to ask when at the brewery. It's even better as a cask ale. Well crafted.

A: Pours a clear medium golden yellow in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising from the bottom of the glass and moderate honey + peach + apricot + caramel + amber colored highlights. The beer has a four finger tall dense cloudy foamy off-white head that slowly reduces to a large patch of thick film covering the entire surface of the beer and a thick ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate aromas of pale + biscuit + toffee + caramel malts with light amounts of toffee + caramel sweetness. There are light aromas of light fruit (apple)) yeastiness. Light to moderate aromas of earthy + herbal + woody hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of pale + biscuit + toffee + caramel malts with light amounts of toffee + caramel sweetness. That is followed by light flavors of light fruit (apple) yeastiness. Finally there is a light to moderate flavor of earthy + herbal + woody hops which impart a light amount of lingering bitterness.

M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth with a relatively clean finish.

O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol and a pleasant mouthfeel (though just a hint over-carbonated for my preference as I enjoy this style most on cask). Nice malt backbone with appropriate hop varietals.
