Beer #1 @the brewpub delivered via cask engine in dimpled mug on 4-25-26 for $7.00.
This is a very nice example of the dark mild style as i got notes of toast, caramel and chocolate. Beautifully balanced. Wonderful session beer while hanging with ATL6245 and Mrs. CC

Deep dark brown, clear; beige creamy looking head, attractive settling, minimal, but not void, of lacing.
Nose presents toasted bread, light black tea; undertones of forest floor and slight cocoa.
Taste leans mostly into toast character; some biscuit quality, little toffee, leafy with earthy cocoa; light roast lingers post-sip.
Body is light; just a tad thin; very smooth feeling with pleasantly low carbonation, mimics cask well; dries slowly with light but noticeable bitterness.

Had on cask. Very dark murky brown body with a full oatmeal colored head with plenty of lacing. Aromas of crusty darker bread with warming caramel, cocoa and earthy hops. Taste has the caramel ooze out of the roasty and bready depths, there is a hint of forest floor in there too. Feel is warm and full yet so light and refined with a contrasting soft roast. Absolutely wonderful!

Appearance: Clear, dark mahogany brown. Thick khaki head. Moderate retention.
Aroma: Strong toasted malt, chocolate and nutty aroma.
Flavor: Toasted malt, chocolate and nutty flavors. Moderate to low bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Semi-sweet at the start but quickly transitions to drying by the end.
Overall: Reviewing beer vs others in style category. One of the best Dark Milds I've had made in GA. This one leans toward toaster malt and chocolate flavors and finishes quite dry. It's not thin at all but may strike you as such initially. A flavorful, easy drinking Dark Mild in a nice low ABV package. When this is offered as a cask ale at the brewery, it is my favorite. Excellent.
