An excellent & balanced smoked. On tap at Blind Tiger. GREAT carbonation. A bit of bbq and crushable.Collab with Fox Farm. Worth the trip to Manhattan.

This is a collab beer between Good Word Brewing and Fox Farm Brewery
Appearance: Slightly hazy, pale gold. Fluffy white head with moderate retention.
Aroma: Moderate, not overwhelming smokey note.
Flavor & aftertaste: Grainy and bready. Spicy & herbal. Low malt sweetness. Notable smokey note kicks in mid sip and lingers through the finish. Moderate bitterness.
Mouthfeel: Medium body. Drying. Moderate carbonation. Smokey note and trailing bitterness lengthen the finish.
Overall: Head brewer gave me a tour and I was able to sample this while it was still lagering. This is a freshly canned sample. A Helles base beer. This turned out terrific. Compared to Schlenkerla, which is real in your face smokey, this has a more subtle but notable smokey note that hits about mid sip and lingers nicely through the finish. Bitterness is low to moderate. Drying start to finish. It's a refreshing Helles style beer with an interesting smokey note complimenting the spicy/herbal hops and malt backbone. This is a perfect beer for those that don't like the big smokey note of Schlenkerla but would like a more interesting & subtle smokeyness.
