Beer #3 @the brewpub delivered via Willi Becher mug on 4-25-26 for $7.00.
I got a toast/mild roasted malt that emitted notes of dark chocolate and was sufficiently hopped with floral hops that balanced this very well. Love the style!

Appearance - The beer was black with a huge fluffy brown head.
Smell - It smelled like beer. There was nothing special about the nose that hinted what was to come.
Taste - The profile had notes of chocolate, coffee, and a hint of blackberry. The sweet balanced with the bitter. The bitterness clung to the tongue.
Mouthfeel - The head seemed to hint the smooth body. The profile spread evenly.
Overall - This was well done.

Appearance: Pours a black body with a brief, sandy-toned head.
Smell: A black bread breadiness with a faint sliver of roast, unsweetened chocolate, faint caramel, a clean smokiness in the background.
Taste: Smooth, subtle roastiness with a dark rye bread flavor. Faint baker's chocolate, a vague notion of dry caramel from an overall restrained sweetness. Subtle fruitiness. Underlying spice. Finishes sensibly dry with a final hint of subtle chocolate, dark malts.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-light carbonation.
Overall: A solid Schwarzbier.

L: Dark brown, mousse-like khaki head with excellent retention.
A: Toffee and dark bread.
T: Toffee, coffee notes. Spicy hops. Low bitterness.
M: Medium body. Drying.
O: Flat out terrific Schwarzbier. Looks like a stout but zero burnt or roasted noted. Smooth, spicy and malty. Dry as a bone. Excellent.
