I visited the excellent folks of Austin Texas a few years back when I was in town for a Honey Summit. Spent several days learning about bees and honey which was awesome. On the way to the airport the group I was with kept mentioning Pinthouse. We were told we had to stop. We all drank lager and ipa in their beer garden til we almost missed our flights. We knew we wanted to make something with these folks and landed on a traditional German Pilsner. Weyermann Pilsner malt, a touch of Vienna and Carafoam, with a blend of Spalter Select and Saphir hops. Step-mashed, and decocted on brew day for a nice malty balance. The spunded to capture 100% natural carbonation. Lagered for a month and filtered for absolute brilliance.

Picked up a 16 oz single from the Blue Door Bottleshop warm shelves 11-13-25 for $7.00. No canning date but canned the last half of October per Untappd ratings; consumed 1-9-26. Cold stored since purchase. Collaboration with Pinthouse Pizza in Austin, TX.
Beer poured clear deep gold with a nice white head that is leaving some lacing behind.
Nose has notes of biscuits and herbal hops.
Taste is biscuit forward with notes of honey bread. Hopping brings a herbal focus with black pepper dominating at the back end of the sip leaving a nice residual bitterness; 7/10 on my scale.
Mouthfeel is light bodied and refreshing.
Overall, a really nice representation of the style.
