On tap at Fifth Frame Brewing Co in Rochester, NY.
This one pours a somewhat dark brown color, with a small white head, and not much lacing.
The nose feels a bit grainy and overspiced, as the cinnamon and nutmeg just dominate here. I don't get any actual pumpkin, and I'm not sure it was mae with any pumpkin. There's caramel and light coffee as well.
This was a nice idea, but it's too heavily spiced. The cinnamon dominates, which is a shame, as I usually like cinnamon a lot in beer, and it takes a lot of cinnamon to overwhelm me. The coffee flavor is nice, but it's just buried under the spicing. The base brown ale is kind of thinly flavored, too. This has potential it's just too much right now.
This is light bodied and kind of thin, with a grainy and unclean finish. I wanted this to be a bit creamier.
I wanted more out of this. I guess I'm not basic enough.
