16 oz can to tulip glass. Pours gold with a white head that reduces to a cap. Pretty clear, maybe a slight haze, but I can see carbonation bubbles shooting upwards, until I take a few sips and drop in the rest of the can. Then,, it clouds up quickly with whatever remnants were settled in the can.. Smell is citrus with grapefruit first, lemon, a bit of honey too. Some malt is evident but hops dominate. Flavor is really sweet up front, middle sees a bit of bitterness, lots of citrus, a bit of alcohol warmth. The finish is smooth with some interesting melon flavors like honeydew and cantaloupe. Malt is subdued, but it's there in the sweetness and the balance that's maintained throughout. Feel is more full bodied than I expected, almost coats the tongue and finishes with a lot of melon flavor left behind. Overall, this is interesting as the melon takes over from the citrus aroma and taste pretty quickly. Alcohol is present and provides a reminder to not drink this one too quickly. This is an interesting beer and one I'd get again.

very tasty big hazy ipa here, listed on the funky label at 8.5% abv, looks like stillwater or something from a label aesthetic standpoint, but i guess a lot of breweries are looking more and more like this in their branding these days. anyway, the beer is really good, hides its alcohol super well, and is another impressive offering from this underappreciated brewer. soft pale golden colored and very hazy with a tall white head and some green settled out hop pellet particulate in the bottom of the can, luckily i keep most of that out of my glass, max hoppiness for sure, could be more refined without a doubt. that said, the nose and taste here are great and benefit from being close to the hop saturation point, big guava and papaya notes, more familiar citrus, and some sativa fruitiness too, weedy in a non dank sort of way, grapey or something, very appealing and without any greenness despite there actually being hops in this can. some light cereal character from the grain gives it balance, the fermentation profile is pretty minimal, and there is a great smoothness to the texture here, doesnt feel as big as it is, and the freshness is absurd, canned just a few days ago and already shipped across country to me?! my boy is on it! better than many, still a tad raw in terms of final touches, but its a great hop profile and an easy drinking imperial. yum.
