thanks to my buddy back east for sending this one out my way along with a bunch of other cool beer, stoked to have some different stuff in the fridge! this is a hazy pale ale with new zealand hops, drinkable but bold, liberally dry hopped but not to the point of over saturation or anything, no bite, no burn, no real bitter, but its not necessarily clean either, a lot of hop linger despite this being dry, and a little bit of a yeast element to it. this is very new york to me, a hazier and thicker base beer than is common in the hazy ones out this way, somehow not filling, but substantial at the same time, has to be wheat based, fluffy feeling. the head on this is high and the lace is rich. the aroma and the flavor are entirely hop driven, nelson i would guess, probably a couple different hops in here, ripe kiwi, honeydew, lemon verbena, green grape, its juicy alright, but its also pretty dynamic and distinctive, cohesive as a whole, very professionally made as this sort of thing goes, and i actually like the yeast contributing something to the flavor, even if its softly soapy. very fresh and fragrant, the first packaged beer i have had from these guys, delicious! the new zealand hops work so well in this context.
