part of the finback initiative, a very cool project, good to see these guys get involved, and a big thanks to my buddy for sending out a can last week, this is fresh and delicious and unique, especially for citra and mosaic, frankly i found it a little hard to believe it was just these two when i was drinking it, the dry hop is massive and distinctive and it seems like it has to have more varietals in the mix, but i guess thats why these two are what they are. a fully hazy, starchy light orange looking brew, frothy headed in my glass, relatively viscous as these things go, but lively enough to be visually appealing. aroma and flavor are huge sliced ripe pineapple, mandarin orange, and lemongrass, juicy and saturated to the max, almost concentrated on my tongue, absolutely fresh as can be, survived the trip west very well, they have absolutely gotten the most out of these hops. wheat and maybe oats too in the grain base, fluffy feeling, a little bigger, but not alcohol to it and no real residual sugar, its the hops that really drive this of course, but the grain is an excellent support for them and the ferment is clean as these go. somewhat more refined than is common in the style in my experience, and with such a bright, forward, and long trajectory hop complexion, perhaps citra in front of mosaic, but it almost seems like some new zealand hops have to be in here too, melon and kiwi fruit and green grapes as it continues to warm up. very solid overall, an important message an cause too, nice to see breweries using their platforms for awareness and good. this beer was a treat!
