another brewer getting involved with the other half collaboration project, this is the second one i have had i think, and frankly it is better than the one from jester king, objectively speaking, which really is saying something, even though ipa isnt their thing, this one is superior to me. quite dense and hazy, a soft rich sunny yellow tone, an inch of white head, nice lace and good retention. it smells citra driven, with tangerine and lemongrass notes, some canned pineapple from the mosaic behind that, extremely fresh despite being shipped all the way out to idaho for me by my buddy, held up well. the grain is dry cereals and earthiness, nothing toasted or sweet about it, very clean and simple, wheaty, fluffy when i drink it. a nice hop profile to the taste, pretty layered for a couple of familiar varietals, a melon note and a little dank weed come in, even some raw honey, pretty nice hop complexity, less familiar than they sound on paper which is always a pleasant surprise, and then no green bite to this at the end, which is where it sets itself apart from the other one i had. low bitterness but some nice hop linger on the palate, clean ferment but a little yeast character in the flavor mix i think is agreeable, and overall this is very well made, if a little heavy feeling as they go. a very cool project from other half, and its neat these guys got involved. i have been extremely impressed with all of their beers so far, they seem to have a really good thing going!
