huge thanks to my homie back east for sending out an awesome box of beer last week, for me this was the better of the two hoppy ones from fifth frame. no hop sediment in this one at all, a uniform pale orange haze to it from the super colorful psychadelic can, high and airy white head, looks almost belgian in that regard, tons of lacing as i drink it down, i dont usually describe hazy ipa as beautiful, but this one is. to me the hop profile is distinct because of how fresh, bright, and forward it is, not necessarily because of the specific hops, which seem mosaic-esque to my senses and as such not real unique, but the beer drinks in its own way at the same time, sort of front end oily with some ripe peach notes along with the familiar canned pineapple aspect, not sure if this is mosaic driven or not, but to me it presents itself that way. the hops grip the tongue and stay there after the swallow, but the beer is objectively dry, and there is no bite or burn here at all, nothing overdone or forced, impressive for how robustly hoppy this really is. the grain is fluffy and full feeling but relatively subtle in the flavor, rustic and seemingly a fine base for just about any yeast or hop forward brew, a good stock. some green grape to finish, bursting freshness, and rushing carbonation. this is exceptional.
