This one pours a very dak black color, with a small head, and not much lacing.
This smells like roasted malt, dark fruit, oaky spice, nuttiness, dark chocolate, and coffee.
This is easily the best beer that I've had from K2 - this is extremely impresive. Their bottle releases lately have been really solid. The barrel just transforms this stout into something wonderful - there's nuttiness, vanilla, some caramelized brown sugar, and a really pleasant peppery oak spice. There's also lots of chocolate, and some coffee flavors.
This is medium bodied, creamy, with a nice spicy finish, and very little booziness.
I'm really happy that a local brewery that's been mostly off my radar since they opened made something as impressive as this.
