Good, solid, citrusy IPA. Had two pints at the Blue Seafood Restaurant in Virginia Beach VA. Poured a hazy yellow color into a pint glass. Good size white head (would have been even better without the frosted glass), and plenty of lacing rings on the glass. Head retention is good. Fine aroma, mostly grapefruit and more than a hint of the bitterness to come. Flavor was nicely bitter, lots of citrus (mostly grapefruit with a good level of bitterness and a floral hops aspect. Some balancing bready malt. Mouthfeel is nicely bitter, crisp and rich enough for the style. Went very well with my seafood dinner.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured a clear golden with white head that is leaving some lace. The scent starts with bitter citrus the has a pine linger. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with bitter citrus and pine mix that finished dry. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

Got in a BIF from KMitch. 12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 4/11/2018. Pours fairly hazy/cloudy deep golden amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky off white head with awesome retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. A bit muted/muddy aromas. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt notes; with solid strength. Taste of big grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, herbal, and floral/grassy earthiness. Moderate pine, citrus peel/rind, herbal, floral, grassy, peppery bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of grapefruit, tangerine, lemon, peach, pineapple, apricot, passion fruit, mango, melon, berries, citrus peel/rind, peppercorn, pine, cracker, white bread dough, lightly toasted biscuit, and herbal/floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Great complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; with a nice malt/bitterness balance, and minimal lingering hop astringency after the finish. Moderate increasing dryness from bitterness. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and sticky/resinous/rindy balanced mouthfeel that is great. Minimal warming alcohol for 7.3%. Overall this is a delicious IPA. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of citrus/fruity/tropical/earthy hops and bready malt flavors; very smooth, crisp, and easy to drink with the moderately bitter/resinous/drying finish, not too overly aggressive. Great Warrior, Centennial, Simcoe profile. Balanced juicy, dank, and earthy hop complexity; nice bready malt backbone, with no residual sweetness from lingering dryness. Reminds me a lot of Stone IPA, no surprise considering the head brewmaster. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on west coast style example as expected. Probably would have been better fresher.

Great Beer, Smelled sweeter than it tasted and very good. This was on tap at the brewery, so haven't tried out of a can.

A 12oz can with a canned on date of 3.15.18

L - Golden yellow, slight clarity, 1 full finger of head and some nice lacing. Gorgeous IPA

S - Citrus hops dominate

T - Well balanced citrus and bitter hops. Good, but the citrus doesn't pop and the bitterness doesn't bite, so just average on the tastiness

F - Medium body and well carbonated

O - A tasty strong IPA. This one is growing on me. Described as not west coast or east coast, and that is clearly the truth! Well balanced.

Moderate bitterness with lemon-lime, ruby grapefruit, and pine with a fair amount of resin but not a lot of complexity in the nose or the flavor. Malt backbone is straight pale malt cracker flavor with clean character. Finishes dry. Pretty disappointing.

A basic one dimensional IPA. Very little aroma with some lemon notes up front upon tasting.Good example of the style, but nothing special in the age of exceptional IPAs.
