Hoptropolis is a thriving hop mecca built upon a foundation of Citra, Mosaic, Loral and Azacca hops. It’s an American IPA with tropical fruit, floral, citrus and stone fruit hop aromatics. The beer pours a strikingly golden color with a light haze.
Upon arrival to Hoptropolis, the first thing to notice is its enticing aroma, which is intensely fruity, reminiscent of fruit cocktail with lots of pear, peach and pineapple plus a distinctly dank, but balanced finish. Taste is dry and crisp with pleasant lingering bitterness. You’ll want to spend a little extra time exploring this hop haven - there’s so much to sip & do.

Very soft, a touch tropical to go along with the more classic citrus and pine resin. On the slightly sweeter side. No dankness.
Finishes on the dry side, which is quite nice.

Hoptropolis has a thick, off-white head and a slightly-hazy gold appearance, with some lacing. The aroma is of subdued piney hops and white bread crust. The flavor is of low bitterness, fruit, and white bread crust. Hoptropolis has a medium body and a mostly-dry finish.

12 oz can with a May 2021 production date stamped on the bottom.
Appearance. Lightly hazy, pale golden body with a good white head.
Aroma. Bright with citrus notes dominant.
Flavor. More piney than the aroma suggests but the citrus is still primary.

Pours a mildly hazy amber color with a white head. Aroma is juicy with tropical fruit especially pineapple and mild hops. Taste is well balanced with the sweetness of tropical fruit especially pineapple, peach, guava, followed by a marginal but not overwhelming bitterness of resin. Solid brew.

From the can, it pours a clear amber with a modest, long lasting, white head that leaves a bit of lacing. In the nose, it is citrus and a bit floral. In the mouth, it is slightly bitter, with some citrus coming through. Nice.

Appearance: Slightly hazy gold, white head, good retention
Aroma: Floral, pepper & citrus. Floral & pepper notes most prominent.
Flavor & Aftertaste: Moderate bitterness. Spicy.
Palate: Medium body, moderate astringency. Short aftertaste with some lingering bitterness.
Overall: Solid example of American IPA. Features Citra, Mosaic, Loral and Azacca hops. Interestingly, the Loral hops seem to stand out a bit more than the others. I get more floral and peppery notes than citrus notes from Citra. Moderate bitterness. Nice contrast to it's "cousin" Hazy Like a Fox which features the same hops except El Dorado instead of Loral. Good IPA. Would recommend to IPA fans who like a lean toward bitterness.

Damn, this was a juicy hop-bomb...
I've had these hop-bombs before, but it has been a while. This was absolutely juicy as it had that strong bitterness from the four types of hops used, all of it blending quite well to provide the tropical flavoring advertised on the can. There is truth in advertisement, every now and then. Overall, it's a solid beer, not the best of all IPAs but something to introduce other beer craft lovers to, proudly...
