Draft at New Realm. Ruddy mahogany pour, small bubbly head. Beautiful aroma of malts, tobacco, leather. Boozy notes sneak through. Taste features rich, deep malty flavors, light roast, nutty, and alcohol. A real sipper.

Picked up a 32 oz crowler at the Va Beach brewery. Pours a beautiful bright copper/orange color with a small off white head (just a covering on the top of the glass. The head dies out almost immediately and there is no lacing. The color alone is enough to give this beer a decent appearance score. Aroma is fairly mild and includes a hint of raisins, some toffee, and malt. There is also a sweet floral aspect to the smell. Taste includes raisins and toffee up front. Little evidence of caramel found in many Barleywines. Mouthfeel is rich and includes some warming alcohol. No harsh alcohol bite or much of a hoppy presence like many American Barleywines. I consider it smooth for a high abv beer. Very tasty, nice take on the style. Another good New Realm beer.

I'm trying this at the brewery. It poured a clear copper with very thin white head that is not leaving any lace. The scent had faint fruit floral notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with caramel and toffee presence. The mouthfeel was lighter in body with good carbonation. Overall its a solid beer.

From a cask at the January 2019 Atlanta Cask Ale Tasting (ACAT).
Clear copper body with a weak head.
Slightly boozy aroma with hints of raisins, toffee and faint spices. The flavor follows but with more prominent toffee.
Smooth, near medium body.

Poured a clear, copper-orange body with minimal head and lace. The aroma has some dark fruit aromas, mainly figs and prunes, minimal raisins, with some booze. Sticky, sweet, a dark fruit twang with a hint of caramel or toffee and then finishes boozy and is a slow sipper but good to have.
