Look: Clear yellow like a wheat beer, but with a small amount of suspended solids, white head that quickly vanishes. Most Belgian Style brews I've had were more ruby in color.
Smell and Taste: Citrusy with lemon and orange zest. Lingering sour aftertaste.
Feel: Dry. 9.5% ABV is in its favor.
Overall: What ever this brew truly is . . . It's not for me. Glad I tried it though. I won't pour it out but I will try not to purchase again.

From the bottom of the can: "PKG 11/06/20 13:42"
Appearance: The body is gold in color with a medium haze which allows fuzzy shadows of shapes through the glass. The head is short, white, and mostly creamy textured with a bit of fluff. Very little lacing which appears as spots. It has decent head retention. Very small head for the style.
Aroma: Banana aroma comes through along with a dusty smelling bookshelf. A mellow clove character floats under the nose.
Taste: Clove comes through with a bit of a papery taste. There is a light tart character to the beer which comes across as orange tang but it isn't very strong. There is a light alcohol presence in the beer.
Mouthfeel: It has a texture that is slightly slick and rests at the lower edge of medium-bodied. It finishes wet.
Overall: The label on the can states that this is a "DRY-HOPPED BELGIAN-STYLE TRIPEL" so it is more of an American twist to the traditional Belgian Tripel. While the beer is decent, it feels rather underdeveloped in character. The dry hopping doesn't seem to bring any obvious improvement to the beer either, because the hop character doesn't even show through. As an average tasting Tripel it might be worth drinking if you're at the New Realm brewery and you're looking for something Belgian inspired to drink, but it's not really worth picking up over the imports. I doubt I would drink it again in a can but I might grab a glass on tap at New Realm at some point.

Picked up a 16 oz can at the Casual Pint in Va Beach. One of the better American Tripels I have tried!!!! Pours a translucent, slightly hazy dark gold color. Big foamy, bubbly head with good retention. Aroma is spicy, yeasty and has the kind of "ripe cheese" aroma that I love in the better Tripels. Flavor features light fruit (apples and pears), mild sweetness, yeast, spices (black pepper). Goes down nice, flavors are very good. A bit more bitterness than I am used to in a Tripel. Mouthfeel is rich and spicy. The one aspect of a superior Tripel that is missing here is smoothness. Many good Tripels go down so easy that you fail to notice the high .abv. Maybe it's just the extra bitterness, but there is a bit more "bite" here than the average Tripel. All in all it is a good beer and should satisfy most Tripel lovers
