12 oz can at the Spring 2023 Albino Skunk Music Festival.
Appearance. This clear, dark reddish-brown porter looks black and opaque in my Tervis.
This has an excellent, soft mouthfeel, but neither the aroma nor the flavor are entirely likeable despite some pleasant notes of dark dried fruits, chocolate and coffee.

From the bottom of the can: "PKG 100422 1342 029348"
Appearance: It has a black body which is completely opaque except for at the very narrow edges of the glass where it appears very dark brown. It has a tan head with dense bubbles. Average retention and good lacing with nice small bubbles that stick to the glass.
Aroma: There is a light bit of a soured milk scent with a touch of dusty, bloomed chocolate. It is not the most appealing of aromas.
Taste: Up front there is this cherry liqueur character alcohol and a bit of cinnamon. The cinnamon becomes stronger and a touch hotter as it migrates to the center of the palate. It takes on a bit of a red-hot candy flavor. The whole flavor profile in general is very candy-like as it approaches the middle of the palate. The alcohol presence doesn't do much to enhance the flavor. The aftertaste is alcohol and artificial sweetener. Although the heat from the cinnamon is nice the overall flavor is very off.
Mouthfeel: It feels medium-bodied and it floats towards the upper edge of medium from time to time. There is a moderate strength bitterness from the grains which works out well. A light cinnamon heat is present. As a whole it feels alright but it drinks like a sipper.
Overall: As a whole it is a miss. The can states that this is an "OATMEAL COOKIE PORTER" yet it has a ton of cinnamon heat. It honestly tastes more like those Christmas wreath cookies with the rice krispies and the cinnamon red hots. The alcohol presence is also overwhelming and the beer almost has an odd liqueur character. This probably won't be a beer most people would be interested in. If you enjoy red hots then it might be worth a try, but otherwise I wouldn't really recommend it. I probably wouldn't buy it again but it was interesting. It didn't taste anything like an oatmeal cookie.

A: black in color, with a tan head.
S: black licorice, vanilla, and spice.
T: roasty with notes of clove and cinnamon.
M: medium thick with moderate carbonation, and a somewhat dry finish.
O: pretty good, but I don't think the flavor matches the gimmick.
