This is from the New Realm Sampler variety pack, which has a date code on the box: "PKGD 11/04/22"
There does not appear to be a date code on the label or the can itself.
Appearance: The body is a medium straw gold color towards the center with a paler color near the edges. It has a light bit of haze and opalescence but it is on the clear-side for a Witbier. The head is short with large white bubbles. It has some head retention but it slowly fades out to a film and a ring. Not much in the way of lacing.
Aroma: There is a mellow coriander aroma with a touch of a tangy scent of wheat. A very light cracker scent. Not much going on in the nose.
Taste: Up front coriander hits the tongue with a pleasant wheat cracker flavor. There is a touch of black pepper flavor. A touch of bay leaf towards the back. No real lingering bitterness.
Mouthfeel: There is a light character similar to the heat that would come off of black pepper, but it just lingers on the tongue for a bit. It has a very mild bitterness at the back of the palate. The body is light. It has a very mellow tartness up front but it washes out very quickly.
Overall: As a whole the beer feels fairly average. At times it feels below average, especially in the appearance and aroma. It doesn't offer anything that would make me want to recommend it over the average craft Witbier, or even a mass-produced one. It is drinkable and it even has some nice flavors but it is just lacking overall and I wouldn't buy it again.
