I've had tons of beers over the years but this was the first one that had the Officially Licensed Collegiate Product seal on it! When I came across it at a Kroger in Athens, Georgia not too long ago, I had to give it a go since this was unique as well as a pretty uncommon style. This turned out to be a nice take on the style that was light in alcohol but still well-rounded enough to not quaff quickly...
This had a nice, amber hue to it that looked like liquid bread - as beer is commonly referred as. Plenty of suds topped it off although the lacing left behind was nearly nonexistent. Lots of malt, floral notes, and bread in the nose as the taste equally followed suit. Hints of Crystal, Caramel, and Munich Malts were in here but nothing was strong as this had a nice slickness and lively mouthfeel to it. The back was a bit cloying and doughy as the bread factor was persistent but overall, this was fun to drink and easy to get accustomed to.
Part of that was the low alcohol and the lack of an overt presence of it. Like any good Vienna Lager, this was an ideal session beer as all that was missing was a date on the bottom of the can. If I was a Yellow Jacket, this would be in my dorm room's rotation as this would be ideal for year-round imbibing. Glad to have come across this!
