A: Pours a slightly hazy medium golden honey in color with moderate amounts of active visible carbonation rising quickly along the edges of the glass and moderate medium golden yellow + brassy + apricot + bright yellow colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy light beige head that quickly reduces to two medium to large sized patches of thick film (each covering a approximately 40% of the surface of the beer) and a medium thick ring at the edges of the glass. Moderate amounts of lacing are observed.
S: Moderate to strong aromas of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit rind, pine, and herbal hops over the top of moderate aromas of toasted + caramel + bready malts with a moderate amount of caramel sweetness.
T: Upfront there are moderate flavors of toasted + caramel + bready malts with a moderate amount of caramel sweetness. That is followed by moderate to strong flavors of citrus/grapefruit pith, citrus/grapefruit rind, pine, and herbal hops which impart a moderate amount of aggressive bitterness.
M: Medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Slightly crisp upfront with a light amount of dryness in the finish.
O: Easy to drink with well hidden alcohol. Enjoyable and very much a throwback West Coast style IPA with the sweetness in the malts and the aggressive bitterness. Would definitely get this one again.
