Poured the color of brewed tea and looked more copper like in the glass. The beige head was a short 1 finger height which left lacing down the glass.
Aroma was mild for me (chemically damaged nose) but I did get some caramel and bread.
The taste, wow, this is really good. The caramel wraps around lightly toasted bread and somehow transitions to roasted malts. Sweet but not overly, really well crafted.
The feel was very good, even after over a year in my cellar the carbonation was active and gave a sharpness to the sweetness of the beer. Nice.
If this is still being brewed, get some if you have the chance.

A: Pours a clear though almost opaque dark mahogany in color with moderate amounts of fine active visible carbonation rising along the edges of the glass and moderate copper + ruby red + chestnut brown colored highlights. The beer has a two finger tall dense sudsy foamy dark beige head that reduces to a handful of small patches of thin film surrounded by a large patch of mottled very thin film covering the majority of the remainder of the surface of the beer and a thin ring at the edges of the glass. Light to moderate amounts of lacing are observed.

S: Moderate to strong aromas of caramel + toffee + toasted + dark + slightly smoked malts with moderate amounts of caramel + toffee sweetness. Light aromas of earthy hops.

T: Upfront there are moderate to strong flavors of carame + toffee + toasted + dark + slightly smoked malts with moderate amounts of caramel + toffee sweetness. Light flavors of mineralogy/hard water. Finally there is a light flavor of earthy hops which impart a light amount of bitterness which does not linger leaving behind caramel + toffee + slightly smoked sweet malt flavors.

M: Slightly heavier than medium bodied with moderate amounts of carbonation. Smooth.

O: Drinks pretty easily considering the strength and the alcohol is well hidden with a smooth mouthfeel. Enjoyable with nice complexity to the flavors + aromas of the malt body - nice subtle notes of smokiness and not too much sweetness. Definitely a good example of the style and one I would grab again.
