I happened to visit The Distant Whistle during their anniversary celebration. Whether or not this was representative of a typical night I cannot say. I found the service spot-on, and I enjoyed the live music and active scene.

This brewery has been open now for 16 months, so it was time for my wife and I to make the trip to check them out. The place is in a storefront setting along the main downtown business area. The interior has an L-shaped bar with seating for about 10, several booths, a number of tables/chairs, and some stuffed furniture. A smaller bar is located down the hallway adjacent to the brewing equipment if someone wants to sit there and watch the brewer work. The place was not busy on a Saturday at mid-afternoon so we sat at the main bar and had very good service. We were also able to chat with one of the owners.
There are 7 taps (expected to increase in the near future) but only 6 beers were available so we ordered a sampler flight of all six. The owner said than none are their mainstay beers because they can't keep up with demand with their small brewing system. The 6 that we had were all brewed to style, except that the scotch ale may have been a bit too hoppy. All of the others received a B or a B-minus score from us. The Milk Shakes (NEIPA) and the Screaming Sky Cowboy (DIPA) were the notable ones.
No food is served here but they have packaged snacks along with free popcorn. Soft drinks are available. Soon they will offer growlers and 12 oz. crowler cans to go. The brewery does a great job for being still a new place, and it is a worthy visit for anyone to make the trip here.
