Draft pour at the brewery served cold in a snifter. Amber with short lived khaki colored head. Minimal head or lacing. The aroma is caramel, bourbon and barrel. The taste is rye whiskey hot, but beneath is oak barrel, caramel and moderate bitterness. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation and a mostly dry finish. Boozey. Overall, good. I don't feel that the rye barrel improved or complimeted the barleywine.
