Draft
Pours nearly two fingers of off white head into a nonic glass. Retention is above average. The body is an extremely dark brown, almost black, hues of red. Initial lacing looks phenomenal. Looks good so far.
Nose is very dry. Roasty, hints of dark chocolate. Hops are extremely mild, almost unnoticeable. Just a hint of sweetness, but mostly dry. Smells good, pretty clean. Nothing wrong at all. Nice nose.
Hmm flavor is very nice, a little dry, but far wetter than the nose was. A little sweetness. Basically no hop presence. Almost creamy, which is odd, the carbonation is moderately low. A little roast, a tiny bit of chocolate. A little Guiness - like sourness going on, not completely out of style. It tastes good, a little light on flavor though. Even though it's a light style, it can hit harder with flavor than this.
Not a huge fan of the mouth, I would prefer a higher carbonated beer, over the creamy feel we have here. Pretty wet, which I'm totally fine with. Not very sweet (I don't know why I always associate sweet and wet together). Extremely light bodied. It's ok, but the lack of carbonation is a little unfortunate.
The drinkability is super high. It's light, tasty, goes down super fast.
The appearance turned out pretty good. The lacing wasn't quite as amazing as I thought it would be, but still very nice. Overall a very nice looking beer. Almost a 4.5
Overall a solid beer, under carbonated a little bit, and lacking in flavor slightly, but it's tasty, clean, and has no off flavors.
