Starts off nice to look at with a golden hue and slight haze with very little head. The nose doesn't offer much some slight fruit and hops. Some stone fruit on the very dry and hoppy palate. Not much going on with this one.

16oz can dated 9/18/18.
Pours clear gold with a minimal head or retention. Tangerine and peach in the nose with a light dankness. Medium bodied with a crisp mouthfeel. Orange and peach on the palate with some light malt and a drying bitterness. Finishes with lingering tropical citrus.
Not a bad beer but it need more hops and the mouthfeel is pretty average.

Breakaway Beerworks "Citra Fusion"
can, seemingly 16 fl. oz., coded "PKG 09/17/18 12:39:33 5.6% ABV"
$3.75 @ Candia Road Convenience, Manchester, NH
Notes via stream of consciousness: Interestingly there's no volume indicated on the label. That's OK if they're selling it direct out of the brewery but it's illegal if they're distributing it. It cannot be sold through retail channels as it is. Otherwise it's a great looking label. It's poured a very hazy deep-golden/amber colored body with visible particulate in suspension. I'll assume, and hope, that that's from dry-hopping. The head is a slightly off-white, very loose foam. It doesn't appear to have very good head retention but we'll see. In the nose it's citrusy and resinous, what some people would call "dank", and earthy. It's not the boldest of aromas but it is a pale ale, not an IPA, and so I think it works fine. On to the flavor... the hops remain, and dominate. They're as the aroma suggests they'll be, citrusy and resinous, and earthy and herbal. There's some additional fruit in there as well but I can't tell if it's from the hops or from yeast. It's not as "dank" as I thought it would be, but there's plenty of resin and a bit of pine. I'm a little surprised it's not more citrusy, based on the name, but it's fine as it is. If anything it could have more of a wider character, it's not that complex, but it's OK. The malt is pretty light, not really that sweet, but bready and grainy. A very firm bitterness balances it and it finishes dry with some fruit lingering. As it warms I'm getting more lemon out of it, and perhaps a little bit more pine as well. In the mouth it's medium-light in body and fairly crisp. Looking back the head did fade fairly quickly but it's maintained a good collar and there is some thin foam covering part of the surface of the glass. Oh, and there's some fairly decent lacing as well. Considering that the haze is most likely from dry-hopping I think we can forgive that, and thus overall it's got a pretty good appearance. It's also a bit unusual, and thus interesting, and it has that going in its favor. I'm not really blown away by this as I don't think it's as rounded and polished as it could be, but then again there is a certain charm in that, and I'd be pleased to sample a few more of these.

From the one pint can dated 06/06/2018. Sampled on July 28, 2018.
It pours a typical light amber color with a modest, lasting white foamy head that leaves a touch of lacing as it fades.
Decent nose of citrus esters including orange and melon and a lower grainy malt profile.
Light to medium body.
Not overly sweet in the flavor but a nice burst of citrus zestiness to tempt the palate. Very clean and crisp finish. Pleasant hop bite in the end.

Pint can. 6/6/18 opened on 7/3/18
Its a pale ale folks....so its pretty clear being a golden amber color, thin, bubbly foamy cap thing settles in low. Decent coveragel carbonation is good, looks lively, remains that waybtoo.
The aroma is pretty classic pale ale, grainy, herbal, hearty malt, spicy and peppery kick all around the glass. The Citra hops give off heady amounts of dense pine, peppery dried grains and high toned acidic citrus things directly to the nostrils. Leafy, dry grassy and herbal tones just keep on rollin' in.
The flavor seems very old-school pale ale....English style Pale which mostly looks amber and slightly gold, malty based, grains, bready, toasty and peppery base. The hops are just high alpha pine, pepper and dry herbs. Not seriously complex, more "classicly balanced" like English styliel
Light and very crisp bite, medium malty tones with a slightly dry thing all over. Well rounded but seriously "old school" in most ways.

Just about brilliant deep golden color with a bubbly white head that persists. Tropical fruity, earthy grassy nose and flavor with light bready malt underneath. Pretty tasty pale ale.

Poured into a can shaped pint, canned on 6/6/18. Pours a very clear and attractive orange yellow, with a massive 2 finger sticky white head, that leaves a thick wall of lace as it slowly settles into a thin layer of bubbles. 4.5
Smell is guava, apricot, peach, mango, and a hint of piney grapefruit. 4.25
Taste follows tropical front to back with a little grapefruit bitterness, loaded with mango and the other tropical flavors are in a supporting roll. 4.5
Mouthfeel is a solid medium, plenty of life, maybe a tad dry and not complaining, and goes down very easy but has a ton of flavor for 5.3%. 4.5
Overall this is an excellent APA that is sessionable, but loaded with big tropical flavor. Well done and keep your eye on this little brewery, they are about to explode! 4.25
