Makai Brewing Company

Stopped in on a drive back from Myrtle to Holden to pick up a growler. Entering the double doors there is a seating area to the left with a stack of games, foosball table and pinball machines in front. Bar is against the far left wall and then brew space is to left of the bar in an enclosed but viewable area. Cool beachy vibe, definitely winding down when I got there as there was only one other couple that left while I decided among growler offerings. Due to high demand only 3 brews were available for growler fill - cream ale, coffee ipa, and red ale. Coffee IPA was quality and the cream ale just seemed to go with the vibe and the weather so I picked that up for fill. Bartender was courteous. Selection of beers was quite large with almost 20 on draft, seemed like a wide variety on the ale spectrum with a few guest taps. Overall a great stop and suggested visit for anyone traveling along this stretch of highway 17.
