This stout has heavy tones of coffee with a dark chocolate finish. It is an acquired taste. I typically love stouts, but this leaves a lot to be desired. After you drink one it sits like a brick in your stomach. Maybe it should be advertised as an alcoholic meal replacement brew.

Poured into a glass mug.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a nice two finger off white foamy head. Slid off at a nice pace. Some spotty lace wound nicely.
The aroma had a thick roasty coffee bean to melted milk chocolate bar. Slight dark chocolate underneath.
The flavor leaned into the roast and found its way into a slight bitterness from the coffee beans. Mild aftertaste of coffee beans and tones of dark and milk chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sessionability about it. Nothing distractible. Carbonation and ABV felt appropriate. Nice roasty to semi-bitter finish.
Overall, pretty nicely done American stout, I'd have again.
