This brewpub is about 10 minutes by foot from the train station. It has a heavy nautical theme, and was built in '96-'97. The building you see just past the small Biergarten (which has plenty of tables, trees and umbrellas) has a pseudo-lighthouse in which some of the brewing equipment is housed. Upon entering there is a long bar to the left, with tables to the center and right. Further rooms are on the far right (near the brewing equipment) and in the rear...plenty of seating. The nautical theme continues inside with a ships wheel, anchors, and even a small sailboat. All the rooms have real high ceilings and beams, with lots of copper pipes running from kettles to bar. Old steins, bier crates, and brewing equipment also dot the landscape. It's a loud, echo-ey place, but very much German. They serve three of their own Biers here (Hell, Märzen and Dunkelweizen), plus Jever Pils, Schneider Weiss and Aventinus in bottles. They sell litre-sized bottles of some of their own to go as well (plus t-shirts, glasses, etc). Both the Helles and Weizen were verry tasty. The bartender was courteous and helpful with my Bier questions, and there was plenty of other staff serving Biers and meals. Zum Wohl!!
