Revived in January 2018, there is a 105 year history behind this well-loved, iconic Connecticut brand. Hull’s Export Lager introduces HueII Melon hops into a traditional lager recipe that provides for a soft bitterness and faint fruit aroma allowing the delicate malt body to shine through. The clean, crisp finish is what sells this one – a great mildly-hoppy taste that won’t linger and will have you ready for your next one!

Pale straw body. Clear. Fizzy head dissipates quickly leaving...nothing at all.
Bready aroma, a little must. Earthy and floral hops.
Grainy malts, floral and citrus hops. Spicy hop finish.
Crisp mouth feel, very light and well carbonated.
Clean beer all around.

This is like craft swill. In all honesty, I don't know a lot about pre-prohibition styles, but I thought this was loaded with flaws. Most notably, incredible amounts of butterscotch on the nose and in flavor. Clearly a diacetyl issue with the beer. Maybe that's okay in this obscure style, but I can't get over it.
I love that they restored the brand, but it's been defunct for 40-something years, so why not just make a better version and not get cute with a totally flawed style?

Nice fluffy head with solid retention and lacing. Delicate nose of floral hops with german bones. nice medium body mouthfeel and a mild sweetness that is replaced with a nice hop dryness and german bittering profile of a pilsner. Very nice beer that's made right here in new haven. I wish it wasn't $10 a six pack but what can you do. I will buy again. This IMHO is a very traditional pilsner recipe with a solid hop finish unlike 99% american macro disasters. well done

Obtained an attractive white/blue can in a trade. Very enjoyable clean and refreshing Lager reminiscent of some of the regional Lagers produced in the 1960's including the original Hull's brewed in New Haven. I enjoyed that product shortly before the brewery closed and find this reproduction to be similarly enjoyable. While I love IPAs, it's also a pleasure to relax on occasion with a lighter yet tasty brew and I hope this product launch is a successful one. I'll be looking for it when next traveling in CT.

A: crystal clear; pale gold in color; 2 finger ivory head that receded to a wispy cap; OK lacing;
S: grain, honey, floral, a touch of DMS;
T: grainy sweet malt balanced with floral hops from start to finish; very mild bitterness at the end;
M: light to medium bodied; moderate carbonation; lightly dry finish;
O: I would have liked a little more crispness and bitterness;
