At the tap room, pours a fairly dark but very clear gold, with a pill white tight bubbled 1 finger head…looks great. Nose is spicy Saaz hops, maybe some honey, a little bready malt. Taste matches…smooth and good balance between the malt and the hops, with a little tingly liveliness that builds…not too dry at the end, thankfully. There’s just a tiny bit of sulfur note at the end, but maybe I’m imagining that.

All in all, this isnt really to style for a helles, it seems to me: the malt isnt quite right, it is too hoppy, and the body isn’t quite soft enough. But…leaving that aside, it is still a nice pint, and it is very tasty. Full mouthful and body, considering the low abv.

L-Nice golden color with excellent clarity

S-Grainy and sweetish...touch of honey

T-Definitely a pils malt flavor to this..toasted malts as well..nice spicy finish

F-Medium bodied...finishes spicy..

O-Nice beer..a little hoppier than you'd expect in a Helles but it drinks nice...
