there doesnt seem to be a whole lot of craft beer activity happening in laurel, so we were stoked to find this place, which is still new here but packed on a weekend and without a single empty seat to occupy, so it looks like people are turning on. the space is bustling but somewhat generic, bright lights and a bar in the center, various tables crammed in all over the rest of the warehouse looking space. the brewing equipment shining in the back, possibly some outside seating area, but its the middle of winter here now and you dont want to be outside, so i didnt do a whole lot of investigative work on that front. its not the most homey place in the world, but they sure made us feel welcome, we had several people take our order right when we walked in despite how busy it was, and they stayed attentive the whole time we were there, really friendly and kind too, one of them the owner. they had a good number of beers on tap here, more than expected for sure, but a lot of them fell into the generic sort of realm, you know, ipa, cream ale, stout, whatever, nothing out of the ordinary or particularly inspired, but in a small town like this, these types of beers might have a little more appeal than anything more ambitious or potentially intimidating. i thought the beers we had were well made, i liked the honey porter best, but the others were all decent. the ipa was impossibly average, but not a bad beer. i think they have the potential to grow with their consumers here, which is a cool relationship to have. for now, its still worth stopping in, the people were awesome, the beer was good, and its the only show in town! they had a tasty looking food truck parked out in front too. i get up here quite often, and will very likely be back! i hope business goes well from them!
