A: Like just about everything "pale" on tap this is a murky, muddled orange color. A two finger white head forms with good retention and lace.
S: OH man, buttery popcorn...yep I am getting diacetyl. With some pine, some hop "juiciness" but the buttery character takes over for me.
T: Some butter again, but not as much as I perceived in the nose. The pine and grapefruit is a bit more vibrant, but that is just in relation to the butter bomb of the nose.
M/O: At first, muddled and soft. Not much carbonation. Though it gets hard to tell the difference between one offering and another. As all the IPA's are pretty similar. Certainly with the buttery character not something I am going to want to come back to...especially for the style.
The only two beers I have gotten buttery diacetyl is this and the Bigger in Texas (Quadruple Dry Hopped). I don't know if this is just the brewery working out kinks, but considering how hyped this brewery is, I would not expect this characteristic. Not impressed here at all.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
