King Cake, a delicious 8% pastry stout conditioned on vanilla beans, cinnamon, and cream cheese. The cinnamon shines upfront before giving way to notes of vanilla cake and creamy frosting.

A: The beer is essentially jet black in color. It poured with a short white head that quickly died down and left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Moderate aromas of cream cheese and cinnamon are present in the nose along with notes of vanilla.
T: The taste follows the smell and somewhat resembles a cinnamon roll, but with less cinnamon and more dough.
M: It feels medium-bodied on the palate and has a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I thought that this beer did a good job at representing the smell and taste of a king cake. The body was a little lighter compared to what I would expect for an 8% abv beer so I found this stout to be quite drinkable.

We ordered this one from Tavour. Chilled for a couple days and poured into an imperial pint glass.
Look: dark brown, almost black with a hard pour that gave a very small half finger sized tan head that dissipated quickly and gave a very light tan creamy lacing down the glass
Smell: smells of biscuit, cinnamon and cream cheese icing (almost of a cinnamon roll or sticky bun, not the homemade kind, but the cheap one you get at a gas station that is pre packaged)
Taste: taste follows the smell, sweet, cinnamon, biscuity cinnamon roll with trailing end vanilla notes that leave you with a very faint bitter, sweet cake in the nose and back palate
Feel: medium to light body with a nice tickle of carbonation that sticks around, sweet but not syrupy... makes you want a little more
Overall pretty good sweet stout. We have never had a king cake, but looked it up (because thats how we roll), and the taste follows pretty close. If you have ever had a grocery store cinnamon roll with white icing, this beer is for you.
Cheers everyone!
