Imperial Blueberry Crumble

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque black in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, cocoa, blueberry and cinnamon. Flavor follows, with dark toasted malt with light char, chocolate, blueberry and cinnamon with a touch of lactose. Medium bodied with light to moderate creaminess. Well made and enjoyable milk stout with blueberries. Both the blueberry and cinnamon are clear notes in the flavor, but well integrated in to the other flavors. The interaction of chocolate and berry is great. I'm not a big fan of fruit in stouts, especially if they bring tartness, but the mild tartness in this is fine. The base milk stout is very nice with a uncharacteristic, but mild toasting char flavor to the malt. Looks, smells and tastes great. Balanced and a pleasure to drink.
