Purchased as a part of a Stars Wars theme beer package. I read the ingredients; what is blue agave? I am using a tulip glass and served it around 44 degrees. A light pinkish-orange head with no retention was formed after the hard pour. The fast dissipation left no lacing on the glass. The color of the beer is close to salmon in its raw form. The beer is not hazy but has low clarity. Overall the appearance is average for this style.
It smells like a margarita lemonade with alcohol. I smell oranges, peaches, fruit sugar, lightly toasted malts, agave, tequila, a light sour note, and some floral.
I was not expecting that. The nose came off sweet; moreover, I was expecting this gross sugar bomb of a sour. However, I did not get any of that. I tasted blood oranges, agave, lemons, salt, and a citric acid note.
The mouthfeel is tart and finishes dry and crisp. The body is light with medium-high carbonation.
A lovely surprise as a sour. I was kinda avoiding this beer in my fridge because I hate brewers hiding mistakes behind loads of sugar. I am glad this is not the case here. This beer was fantastic; I would drink it again.
