On tap at brewery:
A deep brown with clear visibility through the darker colored body. Honey-white head adorns the beer as I get it, with a thick collar keeping me company as I drink it down. Minor amounts of lacing.
Nose is a tad disappointing, with a cola-like base and a little spice that has me debating if a few splashes of root beer is in it. Some dark toast and eventually a little roast seems to sneak in as it warms, but it seems to take some searching.
A rich toasted bread note more than roasted malt fits well enough. A light feel, but one with a little too much carbonation for my liking (I’ve had many smoother Schwarzbiers). A bit of noble hops when combined by a somewhat dry finish exposes a it of spiciness.
I like it, but it’s a little more brown malt that dark malt in its profile, maybe leaning a bit Dunkel-ish. I like Dunkels as well, so I enjoyed the beer, but in this tasting it seems a bit weak on the roasted malt aspects to me.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
