Trade Brewing

 

a very cool little place here in downtown napa. it is humble and small looking, like a converted little cottage or something, set down a little bit from the road right over the river, pretty and bright inside, looks brand new, quaint in a place where things seemed opulent to me, and have a reputation for being so. new wood features, some metal, whites, its clean looking, bright in the daylight, and with a cozy vibe at the same time. they have a great little front patio there with old barrels as tables and a really relaxed vibe. not a ton of beer on tap, maybe eight or so of them, and we had the saison and the belgian pale, both of which were better than decent, and technically quite good, but not real inspired or inspiring to either my lady or me, and we did not have time to drink through the menu. ive heard great things about the food here, but i cant comment on that. we didnt eat, nor did we see anyone else eating, so not even a visual report to offer on that. the beer was clean and vibrant and relatively simple, sort of rustic too, solidly good. service was fine, a little slow for how not busy they were, but we had a great time just taking it all in out front and relaxing for a beer. nice to see so much beer popping up in the heart of wine country. definitely a good spot to pop in for a beer and a sit, we felt comfortable and relaxed the entire time. id go back if i were in napa again!
