Very hazy, opaque, orange-gold, with maybe a hint of pink. Moderate white head.
Smells of fresh grapefruit, fresh pineapple, and (from the can) apricot filling.
Flavor is grapefruit juice, grapefruit pith, dried pineapple, bitter orange, and a slight touch of persimmon. Light bitterness to start, that gets stronger, finishing on the high end of "moderate". Some lingering grapefruit pith flavor and bitterness after the finish.
[Additional note] : As it warms, I'm getting a little of the apricot, that was in the aroma, and a slightly softer feel. [Additional Note 2} It IS better warmer, so adjusted accordingly, +.25
Moderately thick feel, less than apricot nectar or pear juice, but tending that way. Very fine but noticeable carbonation prickle, that lightens the feel on the back end.
Overall, very good. On the more bitter/prickly side of NEIPA spectrum. (& I like that. : ) ) Not the "pillowy" , low apparent-bitterness side of things. Definitely worth a try.
