Created as the worlds first triple NEIPA hiking beer we set out to push the limits of our mash tun and dry hoping schedule. We use an obnoxious amount of Galaxy and Michigan Copper hops to provide a seductive tropical fruit aroma. It is backed up by a super creamy mouthfeel with a slight sweetness.

EBF Last Saturday First IPA of the fest. Hazy peach color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Hazy murky tropical fruit and earth. Typical NE IPA

Into The Forest is pretty damned good, so not totally optimistic about how a TNEIPA version of it would turn out . OK, let's see how they did:
From a growler , from the brewery :
Orangey-gold , with moderate, quickly-dissipating, very fine, off-white head . Reduces to thin layer of surface-level swirly clouds, with 1/2" of light lacing. Color is that of apricot nectar+pineapple juice.
Smell is fresh apricot, light tangerine, mixed tropical fruit, a bit of "fresh" malt aroma, finishing with a bit of booze, as if fresh apricots had been marinating in vodka+brandy for a day or so. Overall, the aroma is medium-strength. Smelled a little as I poured, but had to bury my nose in the glass after that.
Taste is slightly unripe apricot, a slight touch of candied pineapple , a little fresh-pineapple-tang, finishing with light stone-fruit-pit/amaretto bitterness. No noticeable alcohol flavor, with a tiny, tiny bit of warming on the tongue, after swallow. If I wasn't analyzing for this review, I probably wouldn't notice.
Feel is VERY smooth, medium , with very, very fine creamy carbonation . The barest bit of carbonation tingle , on the tip of the tongue, joins the finishing bitterness. Lingering coating all over, after finish.
Overall, well done. Actually simpler taste profile than the double version. A bit smoother. Dangerously easy-drinking. I slightly prefer Into The Forest, but standing alone, this is a pleasure, and well-worth giving it a try. As to the original question : destination reached!
