From a can, dated 12/20/18,poured into 16 oz tulip.
Described as "Sour Pineapple Mango Ale".
Moderately cloudy, light yellow, similar to yellow grapefruit juice. 1/2" quickly-dissipating pure white head, that leaves a fine ring of lacing.
Smells of mixed fruit, and "freshness" (???) , reminiscent of a gose or Berliner weisse . (I assume that is from the malt.)
Occasional brief hints of the individual fruit. After the head settles, the smell of mango predominates.
The initial taste is of a fruit mix, and sourness, followed by a light touch of pie crust , as from the wet inside part. It finishes with lingering tartness. The overall impression is that of sour pineapple+mango candy. The flavor is lighter than that though, without as much "jamminess" as such a candy would normally have .
Medium feel, with light oilyness. Very fine carbonation that gives a lingering micro-tingle.
All of that^ is to say : this is pretty good. ;) It's pleasant and satisfying. Seems like something that was concocted to be exactly as it is, not something that is sweet, with sour added, to fix a cloying mess. Well done! I hope they brew this again next summer. Good now, but should be especially good on a hot July day.
