From a can dated 12/11/19 (yesterday). Maybe too soon to drink, for best result? Let's find out.
I see that the abv has been upped to 10.8%,[:0] from the 9.1% of previous brewings.
Completely opaque dark cola-brown, with some light/chestnut-brown on the edges. Light, quickly-dissipating tan head. No appreciable lacing.
Smell is peanut butter pie and lightly boozy chocolate, as in chocolate liqueur. The ratio is probably 85:15 to the peanut butter pie side of it.
Taste is essentially a liquid brownie , very lightly frosted with peanut butter icing. The proportions are (curiously) the opposite of the aroma. Lest you think this is overly sweet/cloying, let me assure you : it is not that. The chocolate is of the dark, barely-sweetened sort. In addition, there is a light , pleasant bitterness that comes in late, and lingers. No overtly noticeable alcohol, despite the high abv . There is a slight liqueur-like quality to the chocolate, plus the barest back-of-the-throat warming, that comes in late, especially after it warms a bit. If I wasn't analyzing for this review, I likely wouldn't notice that. Very subtle.
Feel is medium-thick/oily. Light, very fine carbonation tingle , that comes in late, and lingers. This combines with the bitterness for a slight drying effect, that prevents it from getting too sweet.
Wish it had a little more carbonation, but that's -nit-picking; overall, quite enjoyable, and would recommend giving it a try.
Original rating, of the 9.1% version, from a growler fill : L:4 ;S :4.25 ; T:4.25 ; F: 4.5 ; O: 4.25 {BA Score : 4.26}
