Amber, slightly hazy, with moderate white head, that leaves some lacing.
Smells of tangerine, dried pineapple, slight amount of grapefruit, grass and pine .
Taste is orange rind, grapefruit rind , pine, finishing with some Bitter Orange (Citrus x aurantium) tang , and lingering , bitterness. The flavor is surface-level , not deep, and fleeting, not lingering. The overall flavor leans slightly more to the citrus than the pine. The bitterness , though touching with a light hand, is the longest-lasting, and most noticeable component.
Feel is fairly light and watery, with very fine, lingering carbonation tingle.
Overall, light, and easy-drinking. Could be dangerously so, as it seems like a session IPA , not it's actual 6.8%.
If you're wondering how it compares to its predecessor 'West Coast Chinookie', if it's the same, just differently hopped, no it's not comparable. Don't go there. It's a different thing. That's what I was expecting , and so was slightly disappointed, at first. Then, accepting what it IS, found it enjoyable.
