From a can dated 4/10/19
Hazy purplish-red, with a 1/2 finger of pink foam. Imagine beet juice, but a little less opaque - some light shines through - and slightly purple, as if some grape juice had been added.
Smell from the glass is mostly lime zest, with light lactic sourness, and hint of something else. Not distinct, nor strong enough to ID it as blueberry. If doing it blind , I'd probably guess Concord grape. From the open can, I do get blueberry, rather than lime, as in blueberry juice (it's a thing ;) ) or pie filling, but less sweet. Almost no hint of lime. Odd that there's such a disparity.
Taste is medium sour, lightly limey, pie crust (wheat) ,and vague fruitiness, that only reveals itself as blueberry on the finish. It is of dried blueberries, rehydrated. Similar to the flavor of blueberry in blueberry yogurt. Slight bitterness, that lingers briefly. A little lingering wheat after finish. Guessing that will fade with time. Will have to revisit in 2-3 weeks.
Feel is light, with moderate, very fine carbonation and tingle.
Overall, I like it. I thought the raspberry-lime predecessor to this was fantastic, so was looking forward to this version, when it was announced. Blueberry is a difficult beast to manage (Fyi, they were only domesticated ~100 yrs ago, so...) , so my expectations were tempered a bit. This more-or-less met those expectations. Not quite up to the level of raspberry version, but still fine in its own right. I'd recommend giving it a try, and am still satisfied with the purchase of a whole pack.
