Brewed with 2-row, oats, wheat and hopped with a combination of Cashmere, Rakau and Mosaic hops. Very soft on the palate with a floral and stone-fruit aroma.

Pours a chunky gold. Thick foam. Hoppy aroma. Juicy tropical fruit body. Sweet mango and pineapple. Light malt backbone. Slight bitter hop finish. Great flavor. Excellent.

Brain Stew

Beer Tree Brew

IPA - Imperial / Double New...

You can smell the two-row and oats on the malt side, along with sweet pine and tangy citrus hops. Minty green grass tones with tangy, sweet 'n sour style citrus from the hop flavor's. The oats provide a creamy and sweetly smooth effect. Very tangy finish, unfortunately kinda sour at the end. Strange finish.

Canned 12/18/20, tasted 1/20/21. A nice beer overall, but not my favorite of this style from Beer Tree. Hazy with a light orange color with a finger of loose foam that dissipated fairly quickly. Pleasant aroma and complex, juicy flavor. However, it bordered on being a little sickly sweet, and the body was a touch thin, although the mouthfeel was nice and smooth.

it seems crazy to me that this one is as strong as it is, it drinks a lot lighter than its listed abv, at least as far as the alcohol and wanting to crush it go, it definitely looks a little milky, starchy and thick, and its got some body, but the hop profile is so good i dont want to set it down. its a known fact now how great cashmere hops are in this hazy dry hoppy context, but what we are still discovering is how well it combines with others, the rakau and mosaic here are nice flanks for the cashmere, and this is packed with ripe kiwi, green grape, fresh citrus, and even preserved lemon and berry notes in both aroma and flavor, fresh as heck, dry hopped to high heaven, but remarkably cohesive and refined, despite its rugged and raw appearance. the grain has a sort of frosted flakes cereal thing going on, a touch sweet in the middle, but supporting and accenting the hops super well. unique too. fermentation is close to clean, carbonation is good, but its the hops that keep me so engaged here, a killer combination, fresh melon, dried herbs, and pineapple at the end, every so slightly green. delicious beer, aggressive but easy at the same time. very well done.

From a can dated 12/04/19, let warm to 45-50F.
Murky yellow , with a slight orange tint. Looks like pineapple + apricot nectar + maybe a pear , thrown in a blender. Moderate, creamy, off-white head , that leaves a ring, and a bit of spotty lacing.

Smell is grapefruit, creamy pineapple (pina colada, minus the coconut?) , sour orange, and a little peach/apricot. Maybe a little lemon zest. Very inviting, just yelling ....no, not that rude.....forcefully saying ;) "Drink me. Please."

Taste is not-quite ripe peach, with a taste of the pit bitterness, slight pineapple, a brief show of a vague mix of other fruit, then the bitterness and carbonation kick in, returning it to the initial peach/peach pit flavor.

Feel is initially smooth and creamy, like some of the best imperial stouts, with some very finely prickly carbonation that shows up late-ish, on the tip of the tongue. Very slight lingering carbonation burn on the tongue, and a little lingering astringency at the back of the throat. Guessing that last part will subside in 2-3 weeks. Will need to revisit. (If I can hold off that long in drinking the rest. Not a given. ;) )

Overall, I like it, but it might still be a little green/hot. Worth a try, especially if you can wait a few weeks.
