a raspberry wheat beer, simple in its construction, but pretty with the deep red hue it takes from all the fruit, of which they must have used an absolute ton of to get to this shade, its gorgeous from the tap. the fruit is natural enough, but a lot more of its sweetness is here than its tang, which to me diminishes its drinkability and refreshment value, even without it being cooked or jammy tasting to me. the base wheat beer is simple but good, i can taste the pale wheat malt pushing through the fruit, and the fermentation profile is real clean here, not much at all from the yeast, i wish it had worked down the fruit sugars just a bit more though. its not too sweet to drink or anything, but it was a one and done for me. i think its well made beer, pretty much all of them here are, its just not one of the more exciting options on the menu. this should have wide appeal for them though, especially in the warmer months, its definitely way more summer than winter. enjoyable and better than most of its peers, tons of fruit but still beery, solid offering in a style i am generally not wild about.
