From a growler, from the brewery.
Translucent deep gold, with light white head, that leaves a 1/8" ring, and a thin layer across the whole surface.
Smell is biscuity malt, wet hay , and very brief hints of lightly spicy/floral hops.
Taste is basic bread crust, of the chewy variety (not flaky), a slightly tangy, vaguely fruity flavor , with some moderate bitterness kicking in during the latter half, and lingering well past finish .
Feel is light , slightly watery , with some light, very fine, but sharp carbonation tingle/burn. Seems a bit under-carbonated.
Overall this is inoffensive , and pleasant enough , but not something I'd want to revisit regularly . Probably would be more enjoyable on a hot summer day (rather than this windy/snowy January one. ;) ) , &/or with spicy food.

a real basic cream ale here, the lightest beer on the menu by far, and as such, i wanted it to be a banger, but it was a letdown for me, easily my least favorite of the beers we had in here, and not just because its light, not at all, but because its not very good. its not quite as light in the glass as i generally look for in the style, nor as lively. it has a weight to it in the feel thats almost apparent before i can taste anything, i need these to be delicate and crisp, and this isnt that, its malty and almost a little metallic, and the ferment isnt as clean as i want it to be either, which prevents this from being very refreshing. i do get a little of the corn and cereal character from the grain, its not dull, and the yeast is close. being low alcohol isnt good enough, it needs to feel light too, and this really doesnt. they call it an introduction to craft, an entry point, but id prefer a well done macro lager to this to be honest. if they are going to keep a beer like this on their menu, it needs to be at the quality level of everything else they are making right now, and this is well short of that mark.
