really excellent new england ipa, with wheat and oats in the grain bill and brightly hopped with a big mix of sexy new school hops including (and obvious in the beer) cashmere and southern cross, among many others, really good stuff, just a touch green to me, but among the better and more refined hoppy beers i had while i was in, which is really saying something, these guys are doing a lot of ipa types right now. super pale, white washed looking straw colored brew with an almost nitro creamy white head, thick and rich looking, very little light coming into the globe they serve it in. it smells awesome, the newly familiar cashmere and a heap of citra jump out, meyer lemon, sugar cookie, lemongrass, green melon, and yellow starburst candy. the flavor has some cereal balance but no sweetness at all, tons of juicy hop character, gooseberry, clementine, white grape, its awesome! a cool springy herbal layer gives way to a little green bite, just a touch overly dry hopped, but its close to perfection. the recipe is awesome, the execution is there, and the mix of hops is absurd! smooth and creamy feeling beer too, they have this going in a lot of them, and the carbonation here is on point. a bit of linger from the oils, some fruit recall on the swallow, just real tasty overall. couldnt drink ten of them, but more than a couple for sure. really nicely done!
