From a can dated 2/05/20. Let sit out 15 minutes before opening.
Hazy light yellow , with 1.5-finger creamy white head, that leaves 3/8" ring, a thin covering, & 1/2" of spotty lacing. Looks like pineapple juice with a head.
Smell is creamy pineapple (smoothie-like), fresh white bread (malt) , with flashes of tangerine and grapefruit when swirled. A little lime zest aroma can be detected from the open can, but not the glass. Pleasant, but somewhat light/muted overall.
Taste is grapefruit, Valencia orange, and a bit of dried pineapple. Light bitterness - just enough to know its an IPA . Some lingering orange rind flavor after finish. (Original rating : 4.00)
Feel is light, initially lightly creamy, becoming finely prickly. (Original rating : 3.75)
Overall , nothing special, but enjoyable.'Course the bar of expectation for Beer Tree has been raised very high, so don't read that as a negative statement. Probably would be especially good on a hot summer day, so look forward to revisiting if it makes an appearance during those two weeks. (OK, 2 months. Maybe. ;) )(Original rating : 4.00)
Ed : This has improved over the last 2 weeks, so upping the taste, feel, & overall by .25.
